SRUDS is a non-governmental voluntary organization working in Gokak Taluk of Belgaum District, Karnataka, with a vision to promote the holistic development of marginalized and weaker sections of society. The organization implements programs benefiting diverse target communities, with key areas of intervention including formal and non-formal education, literacy development, welfare of differently abled and vulnerable groups, agricultural development, and HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and care. To date, SRUDS has reached over 2,000 beneficiaries across the Gokak region.

HIV/AIDS Awareness Program
SRUDS conducted an HIV/AIDS awareness program at a school in Ankalagi Village, Gokak Taluk, reaching approximately 300 students. HIV/AIDS continues to be misunderstood and feared by many in society. The program aimed to provide accurate information, dispel myths, and reduce stigma by helping students understand the realities of HIV/AIDS and the importance of prevention and care. The session was well received and successfully achieved its awareness objectives.
HIV/AIDS Awareness Jatha
To raise awareness about the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and to remember those who have lost their lives to the disease, SRUDS organized an awareness Jatha on 1 December 2019 in Gokak, involving school students. HIV/AIDS continues to be surrounded by fear and misconceptions in society. Through this initiative, the organization aimed to educate the community about the realities of HIV/AIDS, promote prevention, and reduce stigma by addressing myths and misinformation. The program received positive participation and was successfully conducted, contributing to greater awareness and understanding.
HIV/AIDS Awareness Program
On 21 November 2019, SRUDS organized a door-to-door HIV/AIDS awareness campaign in Benchinmardi Village, Gokak Taluk. HIV/AIDS remains a major concern due to widespread fear and misconceptions within society. Through direct community interaction, the program aimed to educate households about the realities of HIV/AIDS, modes of prevention, and the importance of care, while dispelling myths and reducing stigma. The initiative was well received by the community and was successfully conducted.
Blood Donation Camp
SRUDS organized a blood donation camp in Gokak, where around 20 volunteers came forward to donate blood. Blood donation is one of the noblest acts, as it has the power to save multiple lives. With the objective of promoting lifesaving humanitarian efforts, our organization took the initiative to conduct this camp, which received an encouraging response and was successfully conducted.
